The Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor (M.D., D.O., M.B.B.S.) in Augusta, Georgia.  

Psychiatry Educator – This position with the Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior participates with teaching responsibility as directed by the Augusta University Office of Academic Affairs.  Up to 70% of this full-time position will be directly supported for educational assignments. Educational assignments include didactic teaching, clinical “bedside” teaching, and innovative curriculum development. We would consider hiring a qualified applicant under an O-1A visa who possesses extraordinary ability in psychiatric education.

In addition, the position requires 0.3 FTE direct adult patient care in the Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior outpatient clinic.  Participation in taking general psychiatry call approximately one weekend per quarter, one holiday per year and telephonic call 1-2 week nights per month. Weekend and holiday call involves conducting general psychiatry rounds with residents in the AU Medical Center Emergency Department and on AU Medical Center medical floors on patients being followed by the department’s Psychiatry Consultation Liaison Service.
