The Assistant Director of the Office of Medical Education is responsible for supporting the medical educational infrastructure by providing expertise in curriculum and faculty development and educational research. This position is responsible for the development and enhancement of a competency-based curriculum and implementation of pedagogy that emphasizes active and self-directed learning. This individual will also coordinate, develop, and implement faculty development programs to improve faculty teaching and optimize student learning outcomes. They will also have staff supervision responsibilities.


Education: Terminal degree (MD, DO, PhD, EdD) with experience/concentration in instructional design and curriculum/faculty development. 


Experience:  Three - five years’ experience working in the field of education, preferably in a medical school environment.


Skills:  Proficiency in Excel or SPSS required.  Experience with curriculum development, innovation, and/or improvement, and experience with development and implementation of faculty development activities.  The candidate must have a history of scholarly activities in medical education and possess the following:  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Supervisory experience and the ability to lead employees
  • Attention to detail and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
